B’DAY CELEBRATION AT COFFEESHOP TURNS BLOODY, CELEBRANT HIT ON HEAD WITH BOTTLE

Unhappy at accidentally being knocked by a chair, three patrons who had been drinking fought with the birthday celebrant, with chairs and beer bottles flying all over.

The birthday boy, 28-year-old Xie Bo Cong, was hit on the head with a beer bottle, resulting in blood dripping from his head.

The incident tookplaces last year on August 4 at around 8.10pm.

The three accused, Su Ping Yuan (59-years-old), Chen Bao Zhi (57-years-old), Chen Yong Mei (53-years-old) were drinking at a coffeeshop at Block 501, Jurong West Street 51.

Xie, the birthday boy, got up to place his order, and his chair accidentally hit the accused, who was drinking beside his table.

The accused and his friends were not happy with him.

According to eyewitnesses reports, the victim was hit on the head with a beer bottle.

The victim’s brother, Xie Bo Xing, 30-years-old, came to the resuce of his younger brother and got himself punched and kicked by the three accused.

The police then arrived and cordoned off the scene of the fight.

Su Ping Yuan, pleaded guilty to one charge of deliberately causing hurt to others.

The prosecution said that the defendant, Su Ping Yuan, had a similar case of fighting in 2013.

He also added that the incident occured at a coffeeshop during dinner time, threatening other diners.

The prosecution requested 4 weeks of jail for the defendant.

The judge said that this was a gangfight in a public place and sentenced him to 4 weeks in prison.

The other defendant, Chen Yong Mei, has since passed away.
