
According to a media release, travellers who are entering Singapore from India is required to provide a COVID-19 test result that was issued by certified labs in India. Those who failed to provide the documents will be denied entry.
Reason for the new requirement:
- Increase in fake COVID-19 test result has been reported in India
- Singapore sees an increase in the number of imported cases which came from India.
In addition, people with travel history to India in the last 14 days will be required to go through a serology test before entering the country. This new set of requirement applied to all Singapore citizens and permanent residents as well.
Those with positive results need not take the Swab test that was scheduled before the end of their Stay Home Notice (SHN).
Currently, India has reported more than 5.5 million confirmed cases. They have been ranked the second country with the most confirmed cases in the world with over 90,000 deaths reported.
