In view of the pandemic, the Singapore government has the period during which the national flag can be displayed. The purpose is to show unity among Singaporeans to support those medical personnel fighting COVID-19 at the frontline.

However, 30 Sep 2020 was marked as the end of the period which national flags can be displayed. Any household caught displaying the flag after 30 Sep 2020 is subjected to a $1,000 fine.
