
The employer who did not allow an employee to visit his dying father has finally apologized. The man, Syed Ahmad, who wrote his complaint on the Facebook page Complaint Singapore, has stated his despair after the company held him back from visiting his father when he was on his deathbed.
It was believed that the Syed worked for the company Iron Mountain as a data processing specialist and he was subsequently fired for taking too many days of leave.
The employer in question has apologised to them man several month after the incident and this was confirmed by the Tripartite Alliance for Fair and Progressive Employment Practices.
“The employer acknowledged that they should have handled the matter more sensitively and empathetically, especially in this situation which involved the impending loss of a loved one.” Tafep said.
