In his Facebook post, M Ravi alleged that Eugene Thuraisingam, a lawyer as well, told him that Law Minister K Shanmugam has said that he “wields influence of the the Chief Justice” and “calls the shots and controls Sundaresh Menon”.

The police said that “The public prosecutor has issued an order pursuant to Section 16(2) of the Criminal Procedure Code for the police to investigate into the offence.”

Thuraisingam then wrote a letter to the Law Minister Mr Shanmugam, refuting M Ravi’s claims and allegations, saying that there is “absolutely no truth whatsoever”.

He also posted a copy of the letter to Mr Shanmugam on Facebook, calling Ravi’s post “false and completely untrue.”
