A 65-year-old man was charged in court earlier today (11 Nov), for breaking the Stay Home Notice (SHN) rules back in May this year. It is reported that the man has repeatedly left his place of isolation because of boredom.
According to the court document, the man allegedly left his place of isolation at 8 different occasions between 14 to 21 May 2020. The duration of each outing ranged from 2 to 10 hours.
It was unsure how did the authorities found out about the breach.
During the court hearing, the man admitted that he was wrong and intended to plead guilty to his charges. He also said he was all alone at home and he cannot stand it. That why he decided to leave the house to take a walk.
The man will return to court on 08 Dec 2020 for sentencing and he is currently looking to get legal help for his case.
If convicted, the man could face a jail term up to a year, fine up to $10,000 or both.
