
According to the Immigration Checkpoint Authority (ICA), 7 Myanmar internationals were arrested for Immigration-related offences during an ICA operation conducted on 09 Nov 2020 at a vegetable farm located along Sungei Tengah Road.
On the day of the arrest, the 7 men were found sleeping in 6 makeshift shelters. They were all found staying in Singapore without any valid work passes.

Investigations are currently ongoing.
It is a serious offence for anyone to overstay in Singapore. According to the law, anyone convicted of overstaying in Singapore could be jailed up to 6 months with a minimum of 3 strokes of the cane.
Any employer that was found guilty of employing such offenders could be jailed up to 2 years and fine up to $6,000.
