
2 teenagers were arrested for their suspected involvement in a case of cheating. On 01 Nov 2020, the police were alerted by a victim claiming that he was harassed by scammers who pretended as police officers.
It was reported that the scammers allegedly claimed that the victim was being investigated. In order for the victim to avoid arrest, the victim is required to transfer a total of $600 to them.
The scammers then asked the victim to sign up a mobile line for them in exchange for the cash payment.
After investigations, the police managed to identify the identity of the two suspects and arrested the duo on 11 Nov 2020.
According to the law, anyone convicted of cheating could be jailed for up to 10 years and a fine.
