2 MEN ARRESTED FOR E-COMMERCE SCAM, INVOLVES $69,000

2 men aged 23 and 24 were arrested for their suspected involvement in cheating on an e-commerce platform.

The police were alerted last Friday (06 Nov), to several cases of suspicious refund transaction on an e-commerce platform. After investigations, the police identified the identity of the 2 suspects and arrested them on 11 Nov 2020 and 12 Nov 2020 respectively.

In the process, $6,000 worth of items were recovered.

Investigation revealed that both men have created different accounts to purchase items online. After receiving the items, they will file for a request stating that the items were not received. In total, the men had made close to 50 refund requests that add up to $69,000.

Police Investigations are ongoing. If convicted, both men could face a jail term up to 10 years and fine.
