A man has shared a story about his relationship where he thinks that it is a toxic relationship but his girlfriend refused to let him go.
According to him, he has been wanting to break up with his girlfriend for a while now but was denied by his girlfriend. He then mentioned that his girlfriend refused to break up because of the duration they been together.
He then said that he was even caught cheating by his girlfriend. However, His girlfriend did not even think of breaking up with him and insisted that they could make things worked between them.
In his post:
“I am in a toxic unhappy relationship. we have been in a relationship for about 4 years now, I have cheated on my gf before and there have been many times I wanted to end things but she does not want to end things and she will ask me why she is getting more hurt by me breaking up with her when she was the one that was cheated on in the relationship.
She insists that since we are already together for 4 years we should work together to pursue the relationship. And it makes me feel like I owe it to her since I hurt her.it makes me confused and guilty. I love her but I do not want to hurt her any further. I see no purpose in continuing the relationship at times and I really do no think we can work out for each other. Even prior to my cheating our fights were terrible and she would walk away and disappear for hours. If we get married (as she wants) we will certainly end up in a divorce. but when I want to break up she makes it feel like it’s my fault for abandoning her and I get confused and I feel more guilty
Her argument is that we should work things out instead of me breaking up but truthfully there is only so much a couple or a person can work out before they both get tired and I feel we both feel like we have been giving in too much making this relationship a bitter one.
I really don’t know why my GF doesn’t want to break up seeing the relationship is already in ruins. We fight every day the smallest issues becomes the biggest fights.
I know her friends despise me too. Whenever I raise the topic of breaking up she cries again and claims it is unfair for me to do so since she was the one that was hurt. The way I see this I either need to pick up my balls and just end it or she needs to be the one to end it with me.“
