
Senior Minister of Defence Ismail Sabri said the government has previously intended to establish travel bubbles with 8 countries. However, the negotiations were halted due to a rise in cases in various countries.

As some of the countries, like China and Taiwan, had their pandemic under control, the government will relook into the stated proposal once again.
The government is currently considering establishing travel bubbles with the 8 respective countries, including Singapore, Brunei, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Japan, China, and Taiwan starting from February 2021.
