A 13-year-old girl in China got first place in the school after scoring 100 points in one of the subjects, but was questioned by the teacher for cheating and arranged to retake the exam. She drowned herself in a pond after she got 98 points.
Ms. Li, the girl’s aunt in Anqing, Anhui, revealed that her niece usually scores well, but she has never taken the first place in the whole grade. This time she got the first place in the exam but the teacher’s questioned her. “The teacher suspected that she was cheating. She suspected that she had bought the test papers outside in advance, and even called home to ask her if she had bought the test papers outside.”
The girl’s twin sister revealed that the teacher called out her sister the next morning and didn’t know what she was talking about. Afterwards, the sister came back crying, which probably meant teacher did not believe that she could score so many points.
Ms. Li said that the sisters were both scheduled to retake the exam later, but only two small questions were wrong, and they still got 98 points. “The child may not be able to stand the accusation. She didn’t say anything when she came back in the evening. She ate a little in the morning the next day. She left home by herself at noon. In the afternoon, everyone could not find the girl. Upon going to a nearby pond, her shoes and clothes were seen floating at the surface.”
Ms. Li said that the girl wrote in the last Wednesday night when she posted QQ: “I am doing a good job in the exam. Why am I being blamed for doing it?
The girl’s father called the class teacher in question afterwards, but the class teacher didn’t say anything. He hung up the phone in less than a minute. The school stated that there was no make-up exam, and no apology or explanation was made afterwards.
