WOMAN FINED S$4,000, ABANDONED 4 CATS THINKING IT COULD SPREAD COVID-19

The woman who abandoned 4 cats was fined S$4,000 earlier today and banned from owning any pets for 6 months. She faced two counts under the Animals and Birds Act.

The incident happened at Marsiling Drive Blk 31, 45-year-old Zariyah abandoned the cats at around 9 PM on 28 March 2020, she opens the cat cages and released the animals at a void deck.

She was spotted by a passer-by and she was questioned why she did so. She said that she could not take care of the animals and therefore needed to let them go.

The poor cats who have always been “house cats” were meowing loudly.

She could have been easily fined up to S$10,000 per charge.
