In her post:

Hi all, I’ve been living in my recently renovated flat (3 months). On the 2nd of January, we noticed water seeping up from under the kitchen vinyl floor. We quickly used kitchen towels to soak the water leaking from the vinyl floor gaps and left a fan over it for a few days to dry.

One week later, the same thing happened again. We called our ID who arranged for the vinyl to be removed. They tested our pipes by filling the sink and flushing the water but there was no sign of leakages from the pipes. The ID says that it could be from the recent heavy downpours causing water to enter through the external wall of the building.

I’ve called town council and they’ve dropped by. They claim that they’ve never experienced so much water entering from outside. Also, they checked the walls and it’s dry. All their cases so far have been water seeping through walls, but not flooding the floor. They said I have to take a video to show it entering the house to prove that it is from the external facade before they can do anything about it.

Has anyone experienced something similar? What could be possible sources of the water and how did you fix it? I’m hoping for some persistent rain again so that I can see if it’s really from the external wall…”
