38 Y.O MAN ARRESTED, ATTEMPTED TO SMUGGLE AIRSOFT GUN & GRENADE LAUNCHER

According to a media release, a 38-year-old man was arrested for his suspected involvement in smuggling airsoft guns and grenade launcher replicas into Singapore.

It was reported that on the 28 Dec 2020, ICA officers at Tanjong Pagar Scanning Station noticed something fishy in the image of a container. The item in the container was declared as “Construction set and Constructional Toys”.

ICA officers later conducted a check at the trader’s premises and found 15 sets of airsoft guns and 3 sets of grenade launcher replicas. The case was handed over to the police which led to the man’s arrest.

According to the ICA, this had become a concern as more and more people are using similar methods to smuggle items into Singapore.
