A Singaporean woman recently posted on Facebook after she caught her fiance drawing money from their joint account. He took 3/4 of the money which was supposed to be used for their renovation and lost in all on stocks. Things got so bad that she wants to call the wedding off.

TLDR: Fiance withdrew 3/4 of amount from our joint account meant for house renovation, without my knowledge, and lost it all in the stock market. His friend kept encouraging him to take higher risks despite being aware of his commitments.
Hi guys, I’m at a loss right now. My wedding is set to be at end of the year and I’m having thoughts of calling it off. My fiance has been dabbling in stocks since early last year together with one of his university friend. Let’s call him Friend A. Friend A is a very impulsive person and it was only until recently that I found out that throughout the year he has been lowkey encouraging my fiance to take higher risks than he can manage. Whenever my fiance wanted to play it safe, he’ll always try to talk him out of it by saying ‘No risk no return’.
My fiance ended up withdrawing 3/4 of the money which we have saved for our house renovation and lost all of them. We did have a few arguments before all of these came to my knowledge. He’d get increasingly impatient and kind of vent his frustrations on me whenever he lost money. I’ve always warned him to not trust anyone when dealing with money related issues and on hindsight, I’m disappointed that he’d rather believe in a bad friend. I’ve met Friend A a few times and never liked him because he seemed like a really obnoxious guy.
