Recently, a Muslim food stall at Amoy Street Food Centre selling Ayam Penyet had received a letter from the famous watchmaker company Audemars Piguet (AP) for imitating their logo and tagline.
The boss of the food stall previously had found a designer to create the logo but doing a slight change to his stall name. Also, AP’s tagline was being used but changed slightly in the wordings.
After printing out the log on shirts and stickers, the stall owner had given some to his friends and displayed some on his stall.
Shortly after, he received a lawyer letter from AP delivered to his stall. AP stated that the stall had used their logo and tagline without AP’s approval.
AP agreed to settle it quietly if the stall removed the logo from all social media and any way of promoting it and would escalate the matter if their requirements are not met.
The stall owner had then agreed to their request and asked his friends to discard the shirts and sticker that he passes to them.
