A PRC man was recently discriminated against and he was assaulted before he was insulted by a middle-aged man. He was called a “China virus” by the man who was in the presence of his own family.

I can’t believe that racial discrimination actually happened to me. And it happened in one of the safest countries in the world.
I am going to the gym today. A thin middle-aged man walked in front of me and suddenly said some vulgar words to me. I was still curious about who he was talking to. When we crossed the road, he hit the traffic light with his hand and yelled at me “China virus” in a Northern Chinese accent, but he mentioned that he was a Singaporean citizen. Yes it is! He told me about the China virus in Mandarin, and he was Chinese. In addition, I asked him in English: “Hey, what are you talking about?” He replied: “I mean my wife has a China virus.” In addition, when I was arguing with him, he kept pointing to my head and spoke in Mandarin. I said “China virus”.
I tried to call the police and took video as evidence. The man tapped my arm with his fisted hand, snatched my phone, and threw it into the ditch. When he snatched my phone, he injured me… I tried to stop him, before the police came, and then I told him: I can knock you down in a second now, (I am 178, weighing 73kg, a man looks like 165) but I want to di it, because I’m educated, because your wife and your children are right next to you, and I also give you a little face (I’ve been since 12 years old) I started to learn MMA. I came to Singapore when I was 12 and lived in Australia for a year. This is the first time I have suffered discrimination. It seems that Singapore is my home and I have been taught racial harmony since I was a child. I believe and I guarantee that most Singaporeans are kind and enthusiastic. Finally, I want to thank the police and investigators as well as the health care professionals in the hospital. Last but not least, I hope the police can find the criminal as soon as possible.
