
Dessert shop Ketolicious recently shared a warning about a delivery company who scams their customers. This delivery company would come up with many reasons so as not to fulfill their promised delivery. They would give reasons such as the delivery personnel has fainted.

TLDR: Do note that my main intention of this post is to warn others against taking up courier packages from 7 STRENGTH LOGISTICS (by husband & wife, known as Ben & Irah), by sharing my personal experience with you guys.

Irah first approached me via Instagram in Sep 2020 regarding attractive courier packages under a registered business, 7 Strength Logistics. I decided to get 10 drops for $100 as a start.
Once I’d transferred the money to Irah, she created a WhatsApp group with the both of us + Ben (in charge of arranging deliveries), stating that all delivery details had to be sent in the group by 9.30pm the day before for next day delivery, & that the package could be used anytime.The first 2 deliveries were smooth, Ben quickly arranged for a driver who arrived to pickup on time + my customers received the bakes in good condition.

However, for subsequent deliveries, I was often left on read (double blue ticks) when I sent the delivery details, & constantly had to chase Ben for a confirmation & pickup timing.

My first bad incident: On 21st Dec 2020, I sent in details for 23rd Dec delivery, thinking it would be better to inform them early so that they could make the necessary arrangements due to the festive season. No reply. Had to chase them for an update & only received a reply on 23rd Dec itself, when Ben said the driver would arrive between 1.30pm-2pm. Unfortunately, the driver didn’t show up. There was no update from Ben or Irah all the way till 6.35pm (5 HOURS LATER) when Ben asked me to book a grab instead as he had been “facing issues with all his delivery men”.

I gave them the benefit of the doubt as it was Christmas season that had him overwhelmed. Sadly, that was just the beginning.
There was another incident on 5th Jan 2021, where he’d “arranged” for pickup between 12pm-1pm for my requested delivery to reach around 3.30pm. The driver didn’t show up again, & I called both Ben & Irah multiple times but to no avail. Ben finally dropped me a PM at 3.26pm (out of the group chat) stating that he was getting a replacement driver.

The worst part is that it wasn’t just me alone – I’d recently been in touch with OVER 40 OTHER BUSINESSES facing the same issue.
We realized it was a recurring pattern – first few deliveries always started out great, followed by constant MIA & excuses on why deliveries couldn’t be fulfilled. Irah giving birth (on 3 different dates), delivery men got into accidents, Ben got hospitalized, we’ve heard it all.

It was mentioned that Ben did not compensate for products that were destroyed in transit, or for extra costs incurred to arrange lalamove/grab due to his drivers who arrived late or no show (with no updates from Ben at the time either). He would give excuses on why he couldn’t compensate (or simply not reply) & even urged some of them to file claims at the Small Claims Tribunals against him. Some are desperately trying to use up their slots with him while some have totally given up & left half of their packages unused.

Things would not have gotten to this state if he’d sincerely apologized & at least provided us with honest updates for deliveries he couldn’t fulfil, so we could have ample time to look for suitable replacements. Unfortunately, that’s not the case with Ben.

At this point of time, he’s still raving about how his family is suffering, & that all “our clan” wants is to see him behind bars. Aren’t us HBBs working hard too? Having to pay bills & feed our families?
CASE can’t do anything about it as they’ve cancelled their business on ACRA.
Fortunately for me, I’m relieved to have finished up all my 10 slots with them. However, it was an unpleasant experience constantly having to worry if his driver would show up. Not to mention, having to scramble for alternatives at the last minute to ensure my bakes could reach customers within the time frame they requested for.
To all the businesses out there looking for courier services or have been approached by Ben & Irah, PLEASE save yourself the stress & anxiety of an unreliable service. I strongly advise against taking up any packages with them & putting your reputation at risk.
