WOMAN INVENTED FAKE BEAUTY PACKAGE AND CHEATED 24 PEOPLE OF $630K

Ong Siok Yong, 36-years-old, reportedly created a bogus beauty package to cheat customers when she was working for a weight-loss firm.

Over $630,000 was cheated between 2016 to 2019 from 24 victims.

She came up with the “Model Package” when she was still working for weight-loss firm Bottom Slim in 2016, and when she left the firm to join Asian Skin Solution, she continued selling the fake package to customers.

The package reportedly costs $24,000 and the customer has to use the company’s treatment services twice a month and regular photographs would be taken to show “progress”.

The client would be paid $41,997.60 over three years.

Ong would use money that she cheated form other customers to pay the reimbursements.

An employee of Asian Skin Solution made a police report in June 2019, alleging that Ong has been cheating customers.

Ong pleased guilty to 2 charges of cheating and was sentenced to four years imprisonment on 17 March 2021.
