MOTHER OF 2 SHARES HER EXPERIENCE WITH TICKO GHOST AT JURONG ST 52

Facebook user Inex Yip, a Singaporean mother of two, recently posted on the SCPG Facebook page after her encounter with a hum sup (lecherous) spirit after Jurong Street 52 after she rented a 4-room flat there.

Here is the full story.

In 2013 I had my 2nd child. Couldn’t managed, so my family rented a 4room flat near my mother’s place at Jurong West St 52. At the flat viewing, I thought it was quite ok. As we only intended to rent two rooms, one of the bedroom was used for landlord’s storage instead. I (and only I) only took a brief glance at that room and storeroom and close the door.

This proved to be a mistake. As I had my three year old with me, I thought he could help to flag anything unusual with that place. But he was his usual self so I thought the place was ok. Everything was fine up to the first week we moved in. My mum took my younger son out and my eldest was in childcare. I finally had sometime to do the housework in the morning.

So I got around to sweeping the house. Thought I would sweep the spare room too since it had been unoccupied for quite some time. So I swept what little area that wasn’t covered with the landlord’s items and closed the room door. Took two steps and the door slowly opened by itself. I was puzzled because my front door was closed and there was no wind, not even a slight breeze. So I closed it again, thinking something could be wrong with the hinges. I was not five steps away when the door opened again. No wind. Nothing. The hair on my neck was standing up at this point and even though I was still trying to convince myself it was a hinge problem. It was not a swing door btw. So I went over and closed the door again. Standing there, daring the stupid door to open again. Mind you, the sun is still shining brightly outside. At night when my husband came home, I asked him to check the hinges. He did and told me there was nothing wrong. I decided to keep the incident to myself since I didn’t think it was a big deal.

It happened again on a few occasions till I got used to it. A couple of months later I asked my eldest son why I never saw him playing in his room by himself. His response made my hair stand -“There are people in my room, Mama.” At 3 years old, he hasn’t learnt the word “ghost” yet. I brushed it off but he always insisted on staying out of his room till it was bedtime. Life was busy for a working mother of two, so I didn’t think so much.

A year passed uneventfully till my husband started his own business (with his own share of odd tales – story for another day) and had to work late at times. My eldest is now sleeping with his younger brother, so I slept by myself in the master bedroom. That particular night my husband was working late again and I was sleeping alone. As I drifted off to sleep, half awake, I felt a man’s arm hugged me from behind. I can even feel his face snuggling into my neck! F**K!!! Really that was the first word that come to my mind. I don’t think I was ever so shocked or terrified in my life. I bolted out of bed and whacked the lights on, thinking there was an intruder in my house. But there was no one but myself in room…

Anyway I’m not going to pretend to be brave and stay to face that thing. I gather my blanket and pillow and went to sleep with my boys. Somewhere in my vague memories, I remember from some old movies that males have more “yang” energy and women are more “yin” and therefore tend to be more vulnerable to spirits. I am also banking on the fact that my boys are born in the year of the tiger and snake, both fierce animals, and hopefully will keep that thing away from me. I didn’t get disturbed the rest of the night.
