Infamous Singaporean Amos Yee, who has been remanded in the US under child pornography charges, appeared before a court in Chicago earlier today (8 May) dressed in an orange jumpsuit and a face mask for a review in his case because of an “additional discovery”.
Yee, 22-years-old, pleaded not guilty to all his charges in November last year.
His public defender, Ali Ammoura, a lawyer who is employed by the state in a criminal trial to represent a defendant who is unable to afford legal assistance, said that he needed to visit Yee in remand to discuss some matters.
Ammoura said: “We did get an additional discovery that I was able to review and I need to go over that with Mr Yee. But I do believe we will likely have a disposition to this matter.”
Yee is due to return to court again on 2 June, expecting a disposition (where the court’s final determination in a criminal charge is given).
