The famous Eng’s Wantan Noodle at 287 Tanjong Katong Road, well known for their fiery and spicy chilli, have been suspended from 18 May until further notice.
The Ministry of Health (MOH) and the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) said in a joint released on 18 May that 13 people have come down with gastroenteritis symptoms after consuming food prepared there between 14 May and 16 May.
None were hospitalised and they sought outpatient treatment, with some self medicating and some recovering themselves without treatment.
All food handlers at the establishment are required to attend and pass the Food Safety Course Level 1 again, and have to test negative for foodborne pathogen before being allowed to resume work handling food.
The same goes for the appointed food hygiene officer working at the premises.
The restaurant is also instructed to clean and sanitise the premises.
SFA reiterated that they will not hesitate to take firm action against anyone in violation of the Environmental Public Health Act.
