The first batch of travellers from Singapore, Israel, UAE and Qatar landed on 1 July before noon on Etihad Airways.

Tourists who are vaccinated for at least 14 days need not go through quarantine upon arrival.

They must however obtain a confirmation letter from hotels that are certified by the Thai government before boarding their flight.

Also, they need to take 3 Covid-19 tests in Phuket, namely:

  • One week later
  • A final test nearing the end of the second week.

Phuket has been hit hard by the pandemic, with their economy heavily reliant on international tourists.

However, less than 45% of the Phuket population have been fully vaccinated.
