WOMAN CHARGE FOR OPERATING ILLEGAL MASSAGE PARLOUR IN ANG MO KIO

According to a Police media release, a 53-year-old woman will be charged in court today (21 July 2021) for her suspected involvement in operating an unlicensed massage parlour along Ang Mo Kio Avenue 10.

The woman was caught on 8 March 2021 during an enforcement operation conducted by Ang Mo Kio Police Division, The woman was found operating a massage parlour without a valid licence.

The woman is facing charges for carrying on a business of providing massage services in an establishment for massage without a valid licence. The violation falls under Section 5(1) of the Massage Establishment Act 2017.

If the woman is convicted of the offences she can be fined up to a maximum of SGD$10,000 and/or jail for up to 2 years

For repeat offenders, the offence carries a fine not exceeding S$20,000, imprisonment of up five years, or both.

After the conviction of the tenant, the landlord must require the tenant to hand over possession of the premises within a month.
