Earlier today(July 21), a man was sentenced to 29 years in jail and 24 strokes of the rotan in the supreme court for sexually abusing his 10-year-old daughter for several years.
The 45-year-old man assaulted the victim for over 5 years resulting in his conviction of 15 charges.
Timeline of events
The first abuse happened in 2010, the primary 4 girl was asleep and the father started hugging her from behind and molested her and she felt a sharp pain. He told the girl “sex and this is what mummy and daddy do”. The victim was told by the father to keep quiet
The assault repeated for 3 years until 2013 when the victim ran away to her mother’s home. The father came and fetched and sought forgiveness from her and promise that he will not do it again.
However promises are meant to be broken, he continued his assault on the girl.
How the father got caught
In 2017, the girl finally broke and told the incident to her mother which resulted in a Police report.
In court, the victim said that she had a hard time getting over the assault and it has affected her sleep and school.
