ILLEGAL KTV CAUGHT BY POLICE AT WOODLANDS INDUSTRIAL PARK

According to a Police media release, 12 people are investigated by the Police for alleged non-compliance with safe distancing measures under the COVID-19 (Temporary Measures) (Control Order) Regulations 2020.

The raid was conducted on 15 June 2021 at around 12.35 AM, the Police received a tip-off that an unlicensed KTV was operating at Woodlands Industrial Park E1. Police officers on the scene nabbed 12 people drinking and singing.

Public entertainment and liquor were also believed to have been provided at the unit without a valid licence. Karaoke equipment, liquor bottles and beer cans found at the unit were seized for investigations.

A 30-year-old who operated the unit will be investigated for supplying liquor without a valid licence under Section 4(1) of the Liquor Control (Supply and Consumption) Act 2015 as well as for providing public entertainment without a licence under Section 19(1)(a) of the Public Entertainments Act.

If the man is found guilty of supplying alcohol and running the unlicensed KTV he can be fined up to SGD$20,000 for each charge.

Those who breached safe distancing measures under the COVID-19 (Temporary Measures) (Control Order) Regulations 2020, offenders may be jailed for up to six months, fined up to S$10,000, or both.
