NON ESSENTIAL ICT DEFFERED AND IPPT SUSPENDED

Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) announced on FB that non essential In camp training (ICT) will be deferred.

Fitness Conditioning Centers (FCCs) will be closed and IPPT and NS Fitness Improvement Training would be suspended at SAFRA gyms and public locations.

FIT@HOME which is conducted virtually will be continued with additional slots given.

Servicemen who are affected would be granted a one time waiver off their IPPT.

This is in-line with government covid-19 measures till 18 Aug 2021.

Here is what MINDEF said on FB:

“The SAF will defer In-Camp Training (ICT) and only those that are essential for operations will continue. Fitness Conditioning Centres (FCCs) will be closed and the conduct of Individual Physical Proficiency Test (IPPT) and NS Fitness Improvement Training (FIT) at FCCs, SAFRA gyms and public locations will be suspended. FIT@HOME, which is conducted virtually, will remain available with additional slots. NSmen whose IPPT window closure are within the suspension period will be granted a one-time waiver of their annual IPPT requirement. Large-scale events will also be cancelled, deferred or reduced in size.

These measures will take immediate effect and will be in place until 18 August 2021.

Activities critical for build-up of operational units will continue with stringent safe management measures (SMMs) in place, including those previously announced. This includes training schools such as Officer Cadet School, Singapore, Specialist Cadet School, Singapore, and Basic Military Training Centre, that will continue training with enhanced measures.

The SAF remains vigilant and ready to defend Singapore’s peace and security. The SAF will continue to monitor the evolving #COVID19 situation and review the measures in place to keep our servicemen safe.”
