WOMAN BREAKS INTO REDHILL UNIT AND STOLE $18,000, ARRESTED IN 5 HOURS

According to a Police media release, a 51-year-old woman was arrested by the Police for her suspected involvement in a case of housebreaking and theft.

The incident happened on Sunday (July 25) at about 7.10 pm.

The victim reported the incident to the police saying that there was a case of housebreaking at a residential unit located along Redhill Close and cash which was stored in a bag containing amounting to S$18,000 was stolen from the unit. 

Through ground enquiries and with the aid of images from  Police cameras, officers from Clementi Police Division established the identity of the woman and arrested her on the same day at about 11.45 pm.

The woman will be charged in court on 27 July 2021 with housebreaking and theft under Section 451 of the Penal Code.

The offence carries an imprisonment term of up to 10 years and a fine.
