26 Y.O BREAKS INTO MINI MART AT GEYLANG TO STEAL CASH NAD CIGARETTES

According to a Police media release, a 26-year-old man was arrested for his suspected involvement in a case of housebreaking and theft.

The incident happened on 23 July 2021 at around 8.25 pm, the Police were alerted to a case of housebreaking and theft at a minimart along Geylang Road, It was reported that cash amounting to S$2,000 and a carton of cigarettes were stolen from the minimart.

The Police were able to identify the suspect through investigations and with the aid of images from closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage.

The officers were able to establish the identity of the man and arrested him but only $960 was recovered and seized.

Alleged Serial Burglar

Preliminary investigations revealed that the man is believed to be involved in two other cases of theft along Geylang Road on 21 July 2021.

The man will be charged in court on 26 July 2021 with housebreaking and theft under Section 451 of the Penal Code.

The offence carries an imprisonment term of up to 10 years and a fine.
