A 65-year-old doctor, Raymond Yuen practising at Hosanna Medical Centre at 51 Circuit Road, died from Covid-19 complications on 9 October.

MOH revealed on 11 October that there was no evidence that his death was caused by him being infected by a patient.

He was partially vaccinated with a non mRNA vaccine under the Special Access Route and had no medical conditions that were known.

MOH said:

“His clinic is neither a public health preparedness clinic nor a swab-and-send-home clinic for Covid-19. We also have no records that his clinic saw any Covid-19 patients recently.”

Online tributes for the doctor have come pouring in after the revelation of his passing, and Dr Yeun was said to be kind, friendly and generous while he was alive.

Dr Yuen kept his consultation fees low to accommodate the more vulnerable residents who cannot afford exorbitant fees.

He even paid for his maid’s one year’s house rent in Sri Lanka, and fler her daughter to Singapore following the destruction of their home and school in the infamous tsunami of 2004.

Dr Yuen even forked out money to pay for her flight here and let her stay in his home, paying for her school fees after helping to enroll her into a school here.
