A 16 years-old boy was caught with the detailed planning of a terrorist attack on two Muslim mosques, Assyafaah Mosque (Admiralty Lane) and Yusof Ishak Mosque (Woodlands).
The secondary school boy is believed to be acting alone for this terrorist act. He intended to carry out his plans on March 15, which is two years after the terrorist incident in New Zealand, 2019.
The boy was influenced by Brenton wanted to use the same modus operandi of the far-right extremist that caused the incident in New Zealand.
During a search conducted by the police, they found a tactical vest he bought and a machete he places under his favourites listing in Carousell planning to save up before he could buy one.
The boy has planned his attack on Oct 29 last year. He has been exploring the way to devise a bomb and research on legal ways to obtain rifles. but gave up the plan of getting a rifle as it is difficult to obtain one in Singapore.
The boy will be undergoing rehabilitations involving psychological counselling and religious talks to correct his idealogy and misconceptions.
