A vivid reader of ours who wishes to remain anonymous has sent us what may seem to be a recruitment advertisement on Facebook that is notably ‘fishy’ or even illegal practice that may be an abuse of the S-pass system in Singapore.
What is an S-pass some of you may be asking.
We have attached the criteria taken from the Ministry of Manpower as below:
As we can all see from the MOM website, the minimum wages for a S-pass holder is based at a minimum wage of $2,400 a month.
One will believe that such positions for S-pass holders will belong to someone with at least the knowledge and skill to partake a middle class position in Singapore as S-pass holders are only for foreign nationals.
So what about positions that are lower paid jobs between $1200 to $1600 one may ask.
Well, maybe a driver or a cleaner position one may say as it definately is for someone maybe with less experience, less salary or someone elderly that wants to make ends meet to pay their bills for the balance of their aged lives…
