An 11-month-old baby was conveyed to the hospital following an accident between an SCDF ambulance and two cars on Monday.
The accident took place at the junction of Geylang and Tanjong Katong, at about 6.45pm.
A spokesperson from SCDF said that a patient from one of the cars was assessed for minor injuries and conveyed by another SCDF ambulance to KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital in a conscious and stable condition.
They added that the ambulance was responding to another incident when the accident happened, and its blinker lights were on at the time of the accident.
At the time of writing, police investigations are ongoing.
Photos of the accident were taken by an eyewitness, showing a BlueSG rental car with a damaged bumper.
The ambulance was also seen with some damage to its rear.
According to The Straits Times, the BlueSG car had apparently collided into the rear of the ambulance, causing the ambulance to get trusted forward and hitting another car that was in front.
The baby was inside the car that was in front.
As a result of the accident, traffic along that road was congested for about an hour.
