Today has been one of the happiest days of my life!
I’m a teacher, and there’s a little boy in my class who struggles with ADHD. He is often left behind and feels less intelligent than his classmates.
Today, we were learning how to write numbers and he found it particularly difficult to remember the spelling.
He is always struggling and I noticed him tearing up and getting frustrated. So I asked him if he could come up and help me explain the lesson.
Every time I involve him in my teaching and make his classmates follow the instructions directly from him, he feels so valued and appreciated and his peers find it very funny and amusing because he is very active and runs around everywhere.
When the class ended today, and he was feeling better, while everyone was leaving he came up running to me and hugged me so tightly.
I don’t think I’ve ever been hugged like that before!
And with the most loving and caring gaze he told me : « You’re my second mom »… needless to say I cried all the way home.
I’ve never felt a love more genuine than what he expressed to me. I love my kids so much. I’m so glad I get to experience teaching them everyday.
