
An 82 years old man struggling to walk with the aid of a walking stick was spotted by Facebook user Ms Lee, decided to go forward to understand his situation.
An elderly man was recently spotted working as a cleaner in NUS Faculty of Science canteen. The man was seen struggling walking around with a walking stick and a cleaning table cloth to clear and clean tables.
The sight caught the eye of Ms Lee, she decided to go forward and started a conversation with him. She than understand from the 82 year old man, Uncle Ming with no children, work as a cleaner at a monthly wage of $1,300, for him to support his wife’s medical bills and daily needs.
Uncle Ming have to take care of his wife with kidney problem and other health issue medical bills. Uncle Ming also added, he have to take a taxi to work due to his poor eyesight and have trouble in his mobility.
Ms Lee also assist to inform Uncle Ming on many other government support scheme that he can apply to assist him in his current situation. Uncle Ming then contacted MSF, the staff assured them that they will follow up with him soon on his request of the aid.
