‘AH LONG’ 24Y.O. SPLASHING PAINT AT JURONG WEST ST61 CAUGHT BY POLICE

On 1 February 2021, police were notified of a loanshark harassment case at Jurong West Street 61. One of the residential units in the area had its door and gate splashed with paint. There was also a note left for the resident staying at that unit.

Police officers from Jurong Police Division did a thorough investigation through the police cameras and caught the man on 4 February 2021.

According to the police, “Under the Moneylenders Act 2010 (Revised Edition), the offence of loanshark harassment for first time offenders carries a fine of not less than $5,000 and not more than $50,000, with mandatory imprisonment of up to five years and mandatory caning of up to six strokes.

The police have also added that they would not tolerate any loanshark harassment happening in Singapore disturbing the peace and security.
