I’m in uni now. I made a friend group freshman year, and have gone on trips with them every year. I’ve always paid for Airbnb and people have paid me for their fair share.
Except 1 person has an issue with it, we will call them Frank. Frank has a girlfriend, obviously when frank brings his girlfriend he gets first dibs of one of the beds while single people get either the floor or a couch or something.
Whenever I’ve done these it’s been per person. Meaning 2 people, 2 payments.
However, he has always had an issue with it. Fast forward to this year, trip is set in stone, then covid hits and we can’t go. The trip cancelled, however we can’t get a refund. I’m out 550 bucks. I say hey can you guys send me 50 bucks each so I’m not out, I tell them it’s optional and if they don’t want to then I won’t hold it too much against them.
2 decline. 8 accept. 4 send it within a month. Frank sends 50 which would be fine if he wasn’t bringing his girlfriend, it’s not like I didn’t pay for her. 2 have yet to send it, so with his girlfriend’s amount not having been paid I’m out 150. Which is a lot better than 550, but still.
Recently we were in a big voice call, he asks for an advance on a bet he is gonna win (I had all but conceded) I say “yea if you give me the money for your girlfriend” and he says sure whatever. I send him the bet money and then he goes “you know what I’m not gonna pay for her” I am extremely pissed off right now.
