In the early morning news reports, Korean media has updated that as of today the total number of cases as hit a staggering 1595 cases. (27 Feb 2020)
334 New cases have been identified, most of the patients originate from Daegu, Korea and more than half of the figure is from members of a Shincheonji Church located in the city of Daegu.
The cluster has become a source of infection, It is believed that the cluster originated from confirmed case 31, the patient has been reported to attend services twice even though feeling unwell.
Another 6 confirmed cases were confirmed in the capital, Seoul.
Soth Korea has been facing a steep climb of confirmed cases since the 19 Feb 2020, in merely a week the number of cases has jumped from hundreds to over a thousand.
Currently, there are a total of 12 fatalities in South Korea due to COVID-19.
