According to Thai media reports, officers from Mueang Pattaya Police Station were alerted to the scene on May 18 after a Thai teenager spotted what appeared to be a body dangling from a sixth-floor balcony at a seven-storey condominium along Jomtien Sai Song Road.

When police arrived, a crowd had already gathered outside the building, staring upwards at the grisly scene. Authorities later confirmed the deceased was an American national aged 50, though his identity has not yet been publicly released.

Investigators said the man was wearing grey jeans and flip-flops but was shirtless at the time his body was discovered. His head and arms were reportedly hanging over the balcony railing. Police estimated he had been dead for at least three hours before the discovery was made.

Teenager Spotted Body From Across The Street

The teenager who alerted authorities, identified only as Tae, told police he had been sitting with friends opposite the condominium when he noticed what looked like a human head protruding over the balcony edge.

After moving closer to inspect, the group realised it was an actual person and immediately informed nearby motorcycle taxi riders, who then contacted the police.

Officers later searched the condominium unit but reportedly found no signs of forced entry, theft or a physical struggle. Authorities also said there were no visible injuries found on the body during the preliminary examination.

The man’s remains have since been sent for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.

Series Of Condo Deaths Raises Concern In Pattaya

The incident is the latest in a string of condominium-related deaths reported in Pattaya over recent months, raising concerns among both residents and tourists in the popular Thai resort city.

In April, a Chinese tourist was found unconscious in the swimming pool of a condominium in the Jomtien area. Despite CPR attempts by rescuers and friends, he could not be revived.

Earlier in March, a Belgian man reportedly died after falling from the eighth floor of another Pattaya condominium. Police later ruled the case a suicide after witnesses allegedly saw him walking onto the rooftop shortly before the fall. Multiple empty alcohol bottles and beer cans were also reportedly discovered inside his room.

Thai authorities are continuing investigations into the latest case involving the American man while awaiting official forensic findings.
