Amos Yee who was last reported to have been assaulted in prison has been granted Home Detention and will be released by the end of the week.
Ms Thio said: Amos will be released for Home Detention by the end of this week.” Amos Yee was found guilty on 6 charges for intention to wound religious disharmony in Singapore with the intend to hurt the feelings of Muslims and Christians.

For his crimes, he was sentenced to 6 weeks jail and $2,000 fine. On 20 October 2016, CAN!, a Human Rights NGO shared that Amos Yee was threatened, slapped and kicked while in Tanah Merah prison, a prison they said were filled with mostly malay youths.
After that assault, Amos Yee’s mother Mary Toh had applied for an urgent request to transfer her son into home detention.
