He was charged with:

  • Not wearing a mask inside the MRT on 7 May.
  • Causing a public nuisance on 7 May.
  • Threatening the police officers who went to his home on 8 and 9 May.
  • Not wearing a mask inside and outside the State Courts on 2 July.

His jail sentence was backdated to when he was initially remanded on 19 July.

The trial

The trial was interrupted by a woman who was apparently his supporter, insulting the judge and calling him a “kangaroo”.

She was later detained and questioned by the police.

Glynn was also repeatedly taunting the Deputy Public

Glynn defended himself during the trial without a lawyer, asking the court to free him so that he could return to his country and children.

He claimed to have faced mental duress during his remand.

Wanted to “box” the police

On the day that the police arrived at his home, he adopted a boxing stance and told them that he was going to “f**king drop you”.

The officers then used a baton on him.

Claims to have studied law, “there is no crime”

Glynn then said that he had apparently studied law and there was no crime committed.

He added:

“I am enlightened and awakened and very educated man and I know my rights and God-given rights that no person, be it legal fiction living man or woman, can interfere in and that is what I am standing up for my kids, so they do not have to cover their face.

If people want to wear it I am happy for them… I do not wish to breathe my own recycled carbon dioxide, I like to breathe oxygen.”

Unconvinced

District Judge Eddy Tham responded that Glynn was “completely misguided on such beliefs” and that his actions were a danger to public health.
