UPDATE: Neuron Mobility have since clarified that the incident originated in Australia and that they are assisting the Australian Police with their investigations.
A video emerged online showing an Ang Moh throwing an orange e-scooter into a river, as the entire incident was captured by someone who is purportedly his friend.
The e-scooter is a rental, purportedly rented from Neuron Mobility E-scooter. although the reasons why he decided to throw the e-scooter into the river remain unknown.
The Ang Moh was seen throwing the e-scooter into the river before turning around and running away.
Potential penalties
Littering
Littering is an offence in Singapore and is defined as dropping, placing, or throwing any article or thing in a public place except a rubbish bin.
Persons caught littering face a fine of up to $2,000 for the first offence as well as the possibility of Corrective Work Order.
Vandalism
The stealing, destroying, or damaging of any private and/or public property is an offence under Section 2 of the Vandalism Act.
Persons found guilty of vandalism face a fine of up to $2,000, or a jail term of up to 3 years, and caning of between 3 to 8 strokes.
