Michael Gaubert, a deejay who calls himself a “sound designer”, has been the subject of criticism after he posted a video from an “Asian themed” dinner party he attended in Paris.

The guests in the video could be seen holding cut-out paper masks with slanted eyes, chanting: “Wuhan girls, wahoo!”
Fashion figures such as Susanna Lau have slammed the video, calling it “patently racist” and “an Asian version of blackface”.
Gaubert has since apologised to his “Asian friends” in an instagram post and the video in question has since been deleted.
