The pokemon company said in an announcement on 16 December that they will be airing a special 11-episode arc to commemorate Ash and Pikachu’s journey, as they bid goodbye to the duo.

The new series will have two protagonists and will premiere in Japan in April next year.

This comes in the wake of Ash Ketchum finally winning the World Championship in the series, meaning that he has finally achieved his dream of becoming a Pokemon master, a dream that he set out to achieve back in 1997.

The commemorative episodes that serve as an epilogue to Ash and Pikachu’s journey will be airing in Japan from 13 January 2023 onwards, before the new series airs.
