Singapore, renowned for its plethora of malls, has become a haven for tourists seeking the ultimate shopping experience. Among these, The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands (MBS) stands out as an epitome of luxury and opulence.
One Australian tourist, Jessie Carr, a TikTok content creator, recently shared her astonishment at the mall’s high-end offerings.
The Astonishing Encounter
Jessie Carr’s visit to The Shoppes at MBS left her both amazed and bewildered. Her TikTok video, posted on August 25th, documented her exploration of this upscale shopping destination.
Beginning with a disclaimer, “Don’t go to a shopping centre in Singapore unless you’re rich,” she documented herself walking around The Shoppes.
As Jessie wandered through the mall, she couldn’t help but marvel at the extensive collection of designer brands it boasted.
From iconic names like Bottega Veneta to the timeless elegance of Bvlgari, the mall seemed to be a haven for luxury fashion enthusiasts. “I have not seen one affordable store that I could actually spend money at,” she noted as she perused the high-end boutiques.
Unearthing Hidden Gems
Despite the overwhelming presence of luxury brands, Jessie managed to uncover the “poor people side of the shops.”
Here, she stumbled upon stores like Sephora, Adidas, and Bath & Body Works, offering a refreshing contrast to the high-priced items she had encountered earlier.
As Jessie delved deeper into The Shoppes at MBS, she marveled at the aesthetic nuances that adorned the mall. From the ambient music in the meticulously designed toilets to the intricate details of the tiles and mirrors, every element seemed to contribute to the mall’s ambiance of luxury.
Even though she missed out on the famed gondola ride, Jessie’s impression of the place remained resoundingly “bougie.”
She was awestruck by what she saw and summed up her experience, saying that “I’m honestly so impressed by this place, it’s incredible”.
