A massive crowded was spotted at Robertson quay yesterday and photos of it going around the internet have infuriated netizens.
Some netizens questioned why are there so many people gathering and drinking at Robertson Quay despite the circuit breaker.
The authorities have taken certain measures by banning take away from a bar in the area, little does that help as there are many bars there and the people who should face the wrath of the legal actions should be the people crowding not the businesses.
TAP a bar the area posted a Facebook post on an update stating
Due to the “extraordinary” behaviour of people in the Robertson Quay area yesterday, we have been informed by URA that there will be a total ban on the sale of alcohol, whether takeaway or delivery by all the restaurants along the Robertson Quay area.
This takes into effect immediately. Although we have shown that we have not been at any fault for the mess, the blanket restriction applies to every outlet along the stretch. Please note that we will have our Raffles City and One Raffles Link outlets open from tomorrow. If you require delivery, please visit our online store @ vhww.tapthat.com.sg to place your orders from 18th May onwards The Robertson Quay and Millenia Walk stores will only reopen on 2nd June.
We apologise to our regular customers who have been purchasing lunches and drinks in the area since the lockdown. We will be back in a couple weeks. Unfortunately, difficult situations show us how selfish some can be and the rest of us will just have to deal with it.
Stay safe.
