A 25-year-old man armed with an axe, who was arrested on 11 April at Stamford Road, was charged in court with 8 offences – with 5 of the charged being related to the incident on Tuesday and three other charges for earlier offences, including sending photos of his private parts to another person.
He is currently being remanded at the Institute of Mental Health for medical examination, and the next hearing for his case is set to be heard on 26 April later this month.
He is facing 2 counts of voluntarily causing hurt, 1 count of using insulting words to a public servant, 1 count of intentionally using force on a public servant executing his duty, and being possession of a weapon in a public place without lawful authority or purpose, namely a “Boss” axe that measured about 40.2cm as seen in the viral video.
Told policeman “You relax and see what happen to your face”
25-year-old Manohar Thirunavukkarasu had allegedly attacked two persons on 11 April at about 2.30am at the Lee Kong Chian School of Business located at the Singapore Management University.
He had slapped a woman’s face, as well as punched and kicked another man’s head.
Manohar also insulted a police officer who was responding to the incident, with a slew of vulgarities, saying: “you relax for one second you see what happen to your face”, “shut the f up” and “you cb motherf-“.
He also allegedly kicked that same police officer’s left leg and used aggressive force on his hand.
Sent photo of his private parts
Separately, on 26 February, Manohor trespassed into the Sophia Residence condominium at Sophia Road.
Then on 4 March at about 8am, he allegedly sent a photo of his private parts to a person and caused alarm to the individual.
Later that same day at about 11am, he harassed the same person by using insulting words, saying “f-” and calling the person the Tamil word for prostitute.
