Chinese national Cheng Guoyuan, who was charged in court on 16 April with attempted murder for the horrific slashing of his ex-wife, has had his psychiatric assessment completed.
Cheng went through a psychiatric assessment after being discharged from Tan Tock Seng Hospital, however, the details of the findings have not been revealed, according to Lianhe Zaobao.
Cheng returned to court on 20 May via a video conference.
The judge asked him if he had anything to say, and Cheng then requested to speak to the victim, his ex-wife Han Hongli, a 42-year-old Chinese national.
The judge rejected his request and said that the court is not a place for personal conversations and that any questions he has should be related to the case hearing, to which he then reacted by sighing.
Cheng is set to return to court on 27 May and will remain in remand.
