The unit that triggered the dispute is located at Bedok Court in Bedok South Avenue 3. The owner Mr. He (60 years old, businessman) stated that the tenant has signed a one-year lease at a monthly rent of $4,000 since the middle of last year. The other party has never paid the rent after moving in. He has been in arrears for at least 17 months owing more than $70,000 in rent.

According to the court order presented by Mr. He, it was shown that he and the other two plaintiffs won the case, and the tenant who lost the case had to pay $2,000 in court fees. He said that the lawyer handed over the lawyer’s letter stating that the other party must move out before 5 o’clock in the evening the day before (24th Dec), but it was torn up on the spot by the other party.

He pointed out that he had taken the initiative to let the other party exempt the rent and move away without receiving rent for six months, but the other party has always ignored it. Now he can only apply to the court for a Writ of Possession to protect his rights.

“It is understood that I am the eighth victim, and the other party has repeatedly asked whether there are other units for rent nearby. I am worried that there will be the next victim.”
